LLG incorporates a Maya-based workflow with a passion for environmental effects created with particle and fluid simulations. We have extensive experience with MEL for UI and production tool development, Maya particles, dynamics, fluids, and paint effects for natural phenomena and hair, lighting, compositing, shader development, Maya Rendering, Mental Ray and rigging.
In 2004 we were contracted to develop the human interface portion of a new, proprietary control system for Weta Workshop's Jane and the Dragon. This was a MEL-scripted UI that allows an animator to quickly and efficiently 'puppeteer' emotions and facial expressions using a multi-tracked, or layered approach. This system includes take management, data import and export controls and was developed closely with the character supervisor to interface directly with the facial rig animation system already developed by Weta.
