Tutorials at Lizard Lounge Graphics

Greetings and welcome to my collection of tutorials and various idea pages. In 2004 I started working with Maya full-time at the Weta Workshop where I was working on Jane & the Dragon. There is not likely to be new material offered here for Cinema 4D XL. I'll keep the existing material, but I predict that in time there will be more that has to do with Maya than Cinema 4D XL.

Phaqueometrics:
Phaqueometrics is a technique I learned many years ago working side by side with a well-seasoned motion graphics artist who had many excellent workflow techniques up his sleeve.

In short "fake-o-metrics" = "phaqueometrics". As in cheating. As in there is no cheating in visual effects as it is all cheating and if it is a 2D/3D hack then who cares as long as it sells the shot. I just happened to prefer the different spelling of the term. It's a fine term and I hope it finds its way into the visual effects lexicon. I give credit to my good friend and mentor, Randy Cates of New Hampshire (he has dissapeared from view in the past 5 years) for this term.

You might also use the term "phaqueosity" as in "that shot has a high degeree of phaqueosity, but it works".

Phaqueometrics also goes well with another favorite term: "P.H.Q.E.D" - or "fu**ed".
